Look, if you’re eating a Roast Beef and Cheddar sandwich, you gotta have something to wash it down with. Usually I’ll go for the Coke Zero or a bottle of water … but today, I wanted to try the shakes.
Flo’s offers their “Classic Shake” in three flavors (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry), and, in keeping with the Cars Land theme, the shakes are topped with “road gravel”.
This is a good milkshake. It’s not too big (which I consider a bonus; I want a shake, not a dairy-induced coma), and the flavor is basically that of vanilla soft-serve – mild vanilla, not overwhelming. The consistency isn’t too thick, so you can save your lungs working the straw. And it comes in a handy-dandy plastic cup, so you can enjoy it while waiting in the next attraction queue.
Oh, and “road gravel”? That’s Cars Land code for “crushed-up chunks of Oreo cookie”. They’re a nice addition – wait 10 minutes, and half of them will sink to the bottom of the cup. Easy prey for your straw.
One final note: the standard shake is $4.69 (very nearly making it a Pulp Fiction-esque “$5 milkshake“), but there’s a souvenir cup option for $9.59. I don’t know how elaborate (or big) the souvenir cup is, but at twice the price of the base milkshake, I hope it’s amazing.
Recommended. (At least, the non-souvenir-cup version.)
