Each of the five Cozy Cone Motels has its own unique snack offering. Some do churros, some do soft serve, some do popcorn. You get to shop around.
In addition to food, most of the Cones also have a unique drink option. A signature. Something fun. Something (hopefully) worth seeking out.
Cozy Cone #3 offers a beverage called “Filmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy’ Ade.” The fine print reveals it to be pomegranate limeade (or, alternately, “all-natural lemonade”).
If you swivel your head to the right, though, you’ll notice that the menu also offers this same drink … with vodka in it.
Oh, God. Sure.
The drink arrives in a soft-sided plastic cup. It’s a purplish liquid, topped with white foam (mildly lime-flavored) and served with a straw. I take the beverage, slink off to find shade, and sip.
Sadly, this isn’t good.
Whatever hopes I had for a fun, light, mildly boozy, walking-around beverage (what my buddy Paul fondly calls “Daddy’s special lemonade”) quickly gave way to the reality: boring pomegranate/limeade juice, and no discernible alcohol. The juice is aggressively monotonous. I grew tired of this drink very quickly.
This is a muddle: no real flavor, and not boozy enough to make it worth the money. Heck, for the same $10, you can get much better cocktails all over the park (e.g., the Smoked Turkey).
