Verdict? Not recommended

We’re at Troubadour Tavern to check out the Broccoli & Cheese Stuffed Baked Potato. The queue is long, so I have plenty of time to review the menu. I notice something called “Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce.”

Elaine’s a big fan of fresh pretzel bites. They’re a small, salty, tasty, carbohydrate blast. And I’m intrigued. If they’re good, it will be a fun new snack. So, when my turn comes, I go for it.

The Cast Member hands them over. And I sigh.

Presentation-wise, this is super lackluster. There’s half a dozen oversized pretzel balls, studded with salt, sitting in a paper basket. The cheese comes in a small, lidded plastic container. And … that’s it. It gives me instant flashbacks to the Warm Bavarian Pretzel at Sonoma Terrace. (And not in a good way.)

I grab napkins, head to the table, pop the lid off the cheese, and go to work.

Everything about this is dreadful. The pretzel balls are hard and stale. The cheese is basically just a creamy texture you apply to the outside of the pretzel. It’s all just chewy, doughy texture, with nothing else going on. The portion is mercifully small, but even then – we didn’t finish. I can’t imagine anyone enjoying this. We hoped for something small, tasty and fun; we got doughy, lumbering, and sad. Ugh.

Not recommended.
