Verdict? Recommended

We’ve just left Award Wieners, a slight spring in the step, high on our success with the Banana Corn Dog. It was a good dessert. Now we need something to wash it down.

Schmoozies is nearby. They mostly do smoothies (too heavy, in this case) or the occasional hot chocolate (too sweet, and: not recommended).

We hope they have other options. So we step up to the counter, scrutinize the menu, and find our candidate: Frozen Shimmer Lemonade.

We are handed a pink beverage in a tall plastic cup. We plunk in a straw, and go to work.

This is a light, refreshing frozen beverage. It’s got the consistency of a Slurpee. It’s fairly easy to drink, not too icy. Lemonade is (unsurprisingly) the dominant flavor, but there’s a lot of berry-ish flavor going on, too (the menu claims “pomegranate and passion fruit” but it tasted more like raspberry to me). It’s not too heavy, and the tartness of the lemonade keeps it from being too sweet. As an added pop, there are sparkles(!) everywhere in this thing. A nice surprise.

(Oh, as an aside, the whipped cream is optional. Of course we said yes.)

I was pleasantly surprised by the Frozen Shimmer Lemonade; it’s a solid, refreshing, walking-around beverage. I’d definitely order it again.
