Verdict? Not recommended

We’re at Bengal Barbecue, getting our snack on. I’ve ordered the Bengal Beef Skewer, which turned out to be a half-mouthful of calories. That’s not going to cut it. I need a bit more to get through the evening.

A “Tiger Tails Breadstick,” for example.

When I ordered this dish, I had absolutely no idea what I was in for. The “breadstick” part I was clear on; the “tiger tails” part was the wildcard. All I could imagine was one of those goofy, Exxon “tiger in your tank” tails you see on cars now and again.

Turns out my guess was not far off.

This is a single breadstick. (Really: oversized cheese bread.) The breadstick is infused with cheddar cheese and the random bit of green jalapeño. It looks … interesting. We collect the dish, retreat to the dining area, and get to work.

This is really disappointing.

“Flavorless.” “Boring.” “Filler.” These are the words that leap to mind as I chew. The breadstick is incredibly mild. The cheese is weak. There’s no other flavor to hook on to. Even salt (salt!) would have made this more palatable. Instead, it’s just completely, utterly, and totally forgettable. It feels like the Disney bakers forgot to put two or three key ingredients in the mixer that morning.

You won’t want to finish. I certainly didn’t.
