I’m having breakfast at the Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland. My first choice, the American Breakfast Burrito, turned out to be a fizzle. I’m still hungry. So I’m looking for other options.
I spot the “Loaded Breakfast Sandwich.”
Now, I’m a fan of a good breakfast sandwich. There’s something about egg, cheese, and sausage, all wrapped in bready goodness, that makes a morning right. So let’s give it a shot.
Like the Burrito, this turns out to be a foil-wrapped, pre-made, heat-lamped affair. I order, and am handed my sandwich about 3 seconds later.
I get back to the table, unwrap, and recoil. This is a big sandwich. Bigger than the Cheeseburger, bigger than the Chicken Sandwich. Huge. It’s loaded, too: a thick sausage patty, a big disc of egg, cheese, strips of bacon, hash browns(!), all sitting between two halves of a hamburger bun. I pick it up, and feel the weight. Hefty.
It’s also pretty dang good.
The egg and sausage provide a flavor base. The cheese peeks in here and there. The bacon adds crisp, crunch, and grease. And the hash browns accompany every bite with a bit of soft, salty, fried potato. I found myself taking one bite, then another, then another. I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked it.
This is a tasty, simple, and unpretentious salt-and-grease bomb. (It’s also a lot of food. Two people could split one.) It knows exactly what it is, and delivers. If you’re in the parks and need of a shot of morning calories, try this. I’d definitely get one again.
