Usually, when you approach Flo’s V8 Cafe, there is a friendly Cast Member by the front door, handing out menus. They’re these laminated, 8.5” x 11” jobbies. Very handy for figuring out what to eat while waiting in queue.
Today, I’m at Flo’s to order a Veggie Tater Bake. They handed over a menu when I walked in, and I reflexively accepted it. So now I’m standing in line, idly looking over the menu, and waiting my turn.
Then I notice … wait, what’s that? “Pie-o-Rama”?
I glance up from the laminated menu, and look at the big menu boards behind the cashiers. “Pie-O-Rama” isn’t listed. I look back down at the laminated menu. It’s there.
This sort of thing, of course, piques my curiosity. I pay attention to Disneyland menus. And now, here’s an item on one version of the menu … but missing? An another? Time to break out the magnifying glass and Deerstalker.
When I get to the register, I ask the friendly Cast Member about this. She tells me she really likes the Pie-O-Rama, and they have two flavors: “Apple Cheddar” and “Chocolate Mud.”
Chocolate Mud. Please
You get an entire pie (not just a slice). It’s about 4 inches in diameter. Not too big. It looks like it’s got a dark crust, and is made of brownie and fudge.
Knife, fork … in we go.
This is super, super, super decadent. It’s an explosion of chocolate, with an incredibly dark, rich, fudgy flavor and texture. There’s so much going on with each bite that I had to slow myself down, just to process all the goodness.
This is so rich that I didn’t finish. Not because I didn’t want to, mind — I just hit my limit. I wanted to split it with a friend. This is a serious treat, and great for a table. Grab one the next time you’re at Flo’s. You won’t be sorry.
