I’m at the Carthay Circle Lounge with Bryce and Sharon. We’re looking for a dish for the table. Something we can share. Something with a broad range of flavors.
Something like the Artisan Selected Cheese Board.
This is a super-attractive dish. Three cheeses, served on a rectangular block of wood, and accompanied by candied cranberries, “dried fruit crisps” and a “seasonal chutney.”
Disney thoughtfully included a card that lists the various cheeses. We got the St. Andre Triple Cream, Bucheron Goat Cheese, and Shropshire Blue.
This is all … outstanding.
Everyone has their own favorite cheese (I’m a Blue man, myself), and each of us found our way to the one we liked the most.
All of the cheese was high quality, but the “dried fruit crisps” felt a little odd. They weren’t crackers, and they weren’t fruit bread. They were somewhere in the middle, and didn’t really work. The cranberries were a tad disappointing: lots of sugar, not much flavor. The chutney was solid.
I’m not sure if these cheeses were “diligently selected” … but it was a dang good cheese board.
