The House Salad looks interesting. And, at $6, seems a bargain.
This is a small, simple salad, nicely presented. It’s candied pecans, gorgonzola cheese, and dried cranberries, all sitting on a bed of arugula. It looks good, and smells even better.
The first bite is … terrific.
Fresh. Clean. Delightful on the tongue. The ingredients are simple, but well-balanced and good quality. The arugula has a nice, earthy, garden taste, while the cranberries, pecans and gorgonzola provide great flavor counterpoints. The dressing is a light viniagrette, and perfectly proportioned – the salad’s not too wet, not too dry.
This was good from the first bite to the last. It’s a side-salad portion, which makes it a wonderful (and inexpensive) way to start your meal. This is also one of the better House Salads in the park.
