Cocina Cucamonga is finally in the margarita business!
Up ’til now, if you were dining at Cocina Cucamonga and wanted a margarita to go with your Mexican food, you were stuck going to Rita’s Baja Blenders, located just across the way.
Sadly, Rita’s Grand Margarita is terrible.
Looks like the management of Cocina Cucamonga has decided to take this “margarita while dining” thing seriously.
Let’s hope their margarita is better.
The drink arrives. It’s the same Day-Glo Neon Lime Green cup that Rita’s uses. It’s got the requisite salt on the rim. But the nice bit here is that it’s a drink, not a slush. Slush margaritas can be tough to sip and enjoy. No worries about that here.
I take a sip. It’s good. (Or, at least: certainly not bad.) A touch on the sweet side. (Maybe too sweet?) But it’s very drinkable, and my taste buds instantly registered it as a margarita. A few more sips, and I found myself in a happy, happy groove.
This is a perfectly fine theme-park margarita. It does the job, and met my expectations. If you’re jonesing for a margarita to go with your Street Tacos, this will do the job.
