Verdict? Recommended

We have written before (twice, actually!) about the world-famous Disneyland Lobster Nachos. Our initial review was at the Cove Bar, and our second was for the newly-opened Lamplight Lounge.

In each case, the nachos were … not recommended.

There was a time, not long ago, where the Lobster Nachos were a genuine treat: fresh, tasty, a gem. And then word got out. And the Disney nerds began ordering them like crazy. And then the MBAs showed up and “value engineered” the joy right out of them.

Tonight, we’re back at the Lamplight. One of our party asks about ordering the nachos. Nobody’s excited, but nobody strenuously objects. An order is placed. Conversation resumes.

A short while later, the dish arrives.

Conversation ceases.

They look good. Piled high with goodness. Plenty of crema. They smell good, too.

Hands reach out, tentatively. Chips are retrieved. People start chewing.

These are legit.

Seriously. The chips are good and sturdy. The tomato is fresh. The jalapenos are doing their job. The cheese glues the goodness together. And the chunks of lobster are hanging out, providing a solid assist wherever they can.

The entire dish was gone in, like, minutes.

The Lobster Nachos are back. Good on you, Disney.
